La Samaritaine, an active contributor to the Louvre-Rivoli-Pont-Neuf neighborhood

Joined by Paris municipal technical specialists and the general contractor Vinci, La Samaritaine meets monthly with representatives of the crèche and the elementary school on Rue de l’Arbre-Sec and reaches out directly to impacted local residents before each new stage in work. Through the Louvre – Rivoli Retailers association, La Samaritaine has also forged ties with local institutions.

An educational program launched in 2012 with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs has enabled children to discover the rich architectural and decorative heritage around their school.

Accompanied by lecturers and artists from the museum, children from the elementary school’s eight classes have been invited to visit the collections of the  Musée des Arts Décoratifs, as well as temporary exhibitions. They then drew inspiration from them to create their own contemporary works.

Each June, parents are invited to discover the works in an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

In conjunction with  the Musée en Herbe (“Budding Artists” museum) at 23, rue de l’Arbre-Sec, the Maison du Projet Samaritaine also welcomes a dozen children on a Saturday each month for a free series of art workshops, open to all children.
