CONTRIBUTORS

Client

The client project team was responsible for delivering the completed project in 2020.

This ten-person multidisciplinary team brought together deep and diversified experience in large-scale civil engineering projects.

Architects

Architect: The Japanese architectural firm Sanaa (partners: Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, winners of the 2010 Pritzker Architecture Prize) was selected for the project following a restricted tender process. The firm previously designed the Dior store in Tokyo for the LVMH group. Its portfolio also includes the Louvre-Lens museum (2012).

Architect for office and retail operations: SRA Architectes

Historical Monuments Architect: Jean-François Lagneau, Lagneau Architectes

Hotel decoration and design: Peter Marino and OAL-Maison Edouard François

Architect, social housing and crèche: François Brugel Architectes Associés

General contractor

Vinci, the general contractor for the main segments of the project, did a remarkable job orchestrating up to 1,000 people working together on a very confined site. This organizational expertise was all the more critical since the worksite was completely enclosed without any overflow or fallback space. Without this invisible yet key coordination skill, the renaissance of La Samaritaine would simply not have been possible.
